Youth Court Cases

Facing criminal proceedings is a daunting prospect for anyone, but it can be a particularly intimidating and overwhelming experience for younger defendants.

For Defendants Under 18

Defendants under the age of 18 will usually have their case heard in the Youth Court, which is part of the Magistrates’ Court.

There are some exceptions to this, such as when the case involves a grave crime and/or the youth is charged with an adult defendant, and therefore the case may be sent to the Crown Court.

Experienced In Youth Cases

The procedure in the Youth Court is slightly different to the adult Magistrates’ Court, and sentences are different too. As a firm experienced in dealing with youth cases, the team at Fisher & Co understand how to support young defendants effectively and help them through the process.
